Genshin Impact: Artifact, Bosses, & Domain Drop Rate, Explained (2024)

Among the many controversies Genshin Impact has ever faced, one of them is the poor drop rate. Another one would be poor transparency, where there has always been a lack of communication between the developer and the player base. Now, put them together and players will have: poor transparency on drop rate.

Because of this, many players have joined together to submit their data to gain a clue of Genshin Impact's drop rate. With this information, players should have a better idea of what to expect in their Resin spending. Hopefully, it will also lead to better resources management. Original Resin is the most crucial currency in Genshin Impact, so it shouldn't be wasted mindlessly.

Genshin Impact Drop Rate Explained

Here, players can see the drop rate for the following content:

1. Normal Bosses
2. Weekly Bosses
3. Artifact Domains
4. Weapon Ascension Material Domains
5. Talent Level-up Material Domains

To read the table, players have to pay attention to the Range and Average value.

• Range: How many of the items can possibly be obtained.
• Average: The expected quantity of the item.

For example, if an item has 1-2 in Range, and 1.50 Average, this translates to: Expect 1 item to drop on every run (guaranteed), with a 50% chance for a second drop.

Note: The following information will only include the drop rate of the highest domain and World Level. These are unofficial rates and are obtained from community gatherings.

Normal Bosses

Normal Bosses are large enemies that can be found in Genshin Impact's open-world. This includes:

1. Anemo Hypostasis
2. Cryo Hypostasis
3. Cryo Regisvine
4. Electro Hypostasis
5. Geo Hypostasis
6. Golden Wolflord
7. Hydro Hypostasis
8. Maguu Kenki
9. Oceanid
10. Perpetual Mechanical Array
11. Primo Geovishap
12. Pyro Hypostasis
13. Pyro Regisvine
14. Thunder Manifestation

Players need to farm these monsters if they wish to ascend their Genshin Impact characters.

At the highest World Level (WL 8), Travelers are guaranteed one 5-star artifact on every run. So for people who need boss-exclusive artifacts like Gladiator's Finale and Wanderer's Troupe, then they should wait until they reach WL 8 to farm.

Another thing worth noting from this drop rate is how low Gemstone drops are. This item is only used for a character's final ascension. The chance to get one Gemstone from Normal Bosses in Genshin Impact is as low as 1.4%.

Weekly Bosses

Unlike Normal Bosses, players can only get one reward from each Weekly Boss (every week). This includes:

1. Andrius
2. Azhdaha
3. Childe
4. Dvalin
5. Signora

At its highest level, players can expect one 5-star artifact from each run, with some odds to get two. Just like with Normal Boss, the probability to get a Gemstone via Weekly Boss is also low, with a 3.1% chance. This means, on average, players can expect to get one Gemstone every 30 Weekly Boss.

Meanwhile, for Genshin Impact's Prototype/Billet, the average drop rate is 12%. This translates to one Billet every 8-9 Weekly Boss. It sounds good on paper, but it's actually rarer than that for most people. So at the end of the day, luck plays the biggest role in getting this item.

Artifact Domain

The next drop rate comes from Artifact Domains. Players are recommended to start artifact farming from Adventure Rank 45, as they're guaranteed one 5-star artifact on every run. Travelers can also get two 5-star artifacts simultaneously, but the chances are very low.

Weapon Ascension Material Domain

Weapon Ascension Materials consist of four tiers: green, blue, purple, and gold. At the highest level, players would get two green and two blue on most of their runs. However, at times, people will also get purple and gold. When this happens, they may get 0 blue drops.

However, it's impossible to get 0 blue without purple or gold items, so Travelers shouldn't worry about the range too much.

Talent Level-up Material Domain

Just like with Weapon Ascension Material, players will get two green and two blue items on average. It's also impossible to get 0 blue drops without getting a purple at the same time. However, there's a higher chance of getting the highest tier drop, compared to Weapon Ascension Materials.
