Alan Williams
PRICE-Alan Parley Williams, age 81, died on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in his home in Price, Utah.
He was born November 19, 1942, the last of seven children of Victor Ezra and “Nina” Sarah Elsa Olsen Williams. Alan is survived by his sister Elsabeth (Stan) Hovey, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings and their spouses, John Williams, Patricia (Robert) von Bose, Thomas (Mary Helen, and Alene) Williams, Joseph (Barbara) Williams, and Carolyn (William) Brown.
Alan attended Central and Harding Elementary Schools, as well as Price Junior High School. He graduated from Carbon High School in 1961.
He was in the army for a short time, but lived most of his life in Price. He worked as a proofreader at the Sun Advocate newspaper. In his later years, Alan was recognized around town on his walks. He walked almost daily, and many interacted with him at a restaurant, or when he’d get a coffee, or at the library. Alan kept himself informed on all current events, local and worldwide. He loved reading newspapers and magazines. And Alan appreciated letters and the postal service! He enjoyed talking with neighbors and friends, and conversing in whatever place he found himself with interested associates.
Graveside service, Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 2:00 p.m., Price City Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington, and friends may share memories of Alan online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
